Pearl Hood and Stanley Wood and the Valentine Ball at the Pavilion.
Pearl Hood and Stanley Wood were involved in the Valentine Ball from at least the late 1950s - whether acting as scruitineer or presenting trophies for the dance competition which tradionally formed part of the event.
From 1968 they took over the running of the event. The last year they ran the event was 1974.
The most eventful (but shortest duration) event was 1972 - cut short by the Miner's strike power cuts.
